Here is one more healthy fusion for all of you!.Masoor dal/red lentil pokoda. I have choosed this lentils/dals because very few(in Odisha) of us use this dal in their kitchen.And of course with their high protein content they make an ideal meat subsitute.Now you can go ahead and use this dal in many variations.
Kadhi or karhi is an Indian dish. It consists of a thick gravy based on chickpea flour, and contains vegetable fritters called pakoras, to which sour yogurt is added to give it little sour taste. It is often eaten with boiled rice or roti.
In Northern India, pakoras are added to the chickpea gravy and sour yogurt is added to add flavour to it. They are eaten either with boiled rice or roti.In Rajasthan and Gujarat, it is usually served with khichdi, roti, paratha or rice. It is considered a light food. Rajasthani and Gujarati kadhi differs from the Uttar Pradesh variety. Traditionally, it is sweeter than the other variants, because sugar or jaggery is added to it, but it can be made without sugar for a more sour taste. It is eaten without pakoras and its consistency is slightly thinner.
Bishnoi and Bagri tribe usually make kadhi in evening every day.
And I have came with my Version of Red Lentils Pokoda/Masoor dal pokoda kadhi/Pokodi kadhi.Delicious,Easy, simple version.Hope you all will like it.

Ingredients For Kadhi
- Massor dal pokoda/Red Lentil pokoda- 1 cup
- Besan/chickpeas flour/gram flour 2tbsp
- Curd/yogurt 3cup(whisked)
- Water 2cup
- Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
For Tempering
Mustard Oil-2 tbsp
Mustard -1tsp
Garlic-8 pods (crushed)
Curry leaves- 1/4 cup
Green Chilli- 2-3 slited
Dry red chilli-2
Coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tsp for garnishing
Procedure:
- First whisk the curd and add besan/gram flour to it and mix well

- Now soak pokoda's in water for 5 mins (It will not soak water of the kadhi/yogurt sauce)
- Now place a pan on gas stove and add oil and once oil is heated
- Add garlic, curry leaves, dry chilli, saute for 2 minutes, till the garlic turn golden brown
- Now add mustard , once the mustard splutter
- Now add whisked curd mixture(keep gas on high while adding curd to avoid from curdling)
- Add water and keep it boil and add turmeric and salt
- Add those soaked pokoda's to it and cook for 10 minutes in simmer.
- Garnish with coriander leaves
- Serve with rice or roti.
