"Cheesy Sandwich appe/paddu/guliappa/gulittu/gundponglu/ponganalu/paniyaram"!!

On eve of children's day...Tried something new!!
As children's like twist...So tried this paddu/appe with new look.Fusion recipe into my experiment basket..

So I named it as 
"Cheesy Sandwich appe/paddu/paniyaram"!!
 Paddu (Karnataka), Kuzhi paniyaram (Tamil Nadu) or  Gunta Ponganalu (Andhra Pradesh)or Paniyaram(Kerela) is an Indian dish made by steaming batter using a mould. The batter is made of black lentils/urad dal and rice and is similar in composition to the batter used to make idli and dosa. The dish can also be made sweet or spicy depending on the ingredients jaggery and chillies respectively. Paniyaram is made on a special pan that comes with multiple small fissures. It is known by various names in South India, including paddu, appe, guliappa, gulittu, gundponglu, ponganalu.

Ingredients For Cheesy Sandwich Appe/Paddu

Rice and Urad dal batter
Vegetable Oil-2-4 tbsp
Salt to taste
For stuffing

1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped tomoto
1/2 finely chopped capsicum
4 tbsp veg mayonnaise
1/2 grated processed chesse
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tbsp mixed herbs
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp chilli flakes
For Batter

1cup rice
Urad dal/Black lentil-1/4 cup 

Preparation of Batter:
  • Soaked for 2hrs and grind to find paste
  • Consistency should be not too thick nor too runny
  • Keep it aside at least for overnight
Preparation of Stuffing:

  • Take a mixing bowl
  •  Now add cut onion,tomatoes and capsicum with mayo n cheese cream 
  • Now add some herbs basil,mixed herbs,oregano and chilly flakes 
  • Now little tomato sauce and salt 
  •  Stuffing is ready.

Preparation of cheesy sandwich Appe/paddu
  • Place your paddu mould
  • Grease with little oil 
  • Now put batter with a spoon add little batter then add stuffing and grated cheese
  • Cover it with one more spoon of batter
  • Cook it for 5-10 minutes in simmer
  • And now turn it to other side cook for 10 mins
  • Repeat the for remaining batter in the same way.
  • Serve hot with your favorite sauce or chutneys
