Phoolakobi Alu bhaja/Gobi aloo fry/Cauliflower potato stir fry-Winter Special Dish

Veggies are best in some specific seasaon so we called the ''Seasonal veggie". Cauliflower are too seasonal veggie which are at there best in winters. Though we can find it all year through now...still the taste of cauliflower/gobi can't beat the taste as it is in winter's. And I believe now in every Indian home gobi must be on their menu on daily basis. As it will available plenty now!!
The varieties out this veggie is unlimited...we both just love it in any variation!.Let's start with the simple , healthy and easy and yes of course, very popular recipe Gobi Aloo Fry!.

Ingredients

Cauliflower florets-(Medium size) 1 bowl
Potatoes Medium size -2 nos(Finely sliced thickness of 1 cm)
Onion 1 large size(finely sliced)
Cumin-1/2 tsp
Mustard-1/4 tsp
Green chilly 1
Mustard Oil 5 tbsp
Whole Red chilly 1
Turmeric Powder-1 tsp
Salt to taste

Procedure

  • Chop the cauliflower into florets (small/medium size according to your personal preference)
  • Put in water bowl(Add salt in the water , it will help in getting out small larva in the cauliflower)
  • Peel of the potato skin and clean the potatoes in running water
  • Chopped the potatoes into thin strips(1 cm thickness)
  • Put them in water immediately , otherwise it will turn black and keep it aside
  • Place a fry pan or kadhai add mustard oil and once the oil is heated
  • Add cumin, mustard and green chilly and whole red chilly
  • Let it splutter
  • Now add onion slices and saute it for 5 minutes
  • Now florets and potatoes stripes then add salt , turmeric
  • Give a nice mix and cover it with lid and cook it in simmer
  • Shallow fry till all evenly cooked, crisped and light golden brown in color.
  • Serve hot with steam rice, roti, chapati, poori or parathas.
